Scaffolding hire and erection in Reading

Reading is the largest town we work in, and the job mix here is different from anywhere else in Berkshire. Huge swathes of Victorian and Edwardian terraced housing run through central Reading, Newtown, Katesgrove, Caversham and the Oxford Road corridor, much of it converted to flats or houses in multiple occupation. That means landlord-driven work — roof repairs, re-renders, gutter and fascia replacement, fire safety upgrades — as well as ordinary homeowner projects.

Terraced access is its own discipline. Most of these properties have no vehicle route to the rear, so the scaffold is carried through the house or lifted over the roofline, and the tie positions have to respect a party wall that belongs to somebody else. We work that out at the site visit — how the material comes in, where it stacks, which neighbour needs a knock on the door — because getting it wrong turns a one-day erect into a two-day argument.
