The building stock here is varied in a way that matters to a scaffolder. Boyn Hill and the streets off Bath Road carry substantial Victorian and Edwardian villas with tall elevations and decorative brickwork. Furze Platt, Cox Green and Woodlands Park are mostly post-war semis and detached houses. Towards Bray, Cookham and the Thames the properties get larger, the driveways get softer and the ground gets wetter, which changes how a base is set out.
